A pivotal 10-step process for Infosec Leaders who want greater influence, support, and recognition so they can safeguard their organizations & advance their careers.
Greater Funding and Support
InfoSec often lacks the funding and staffing needed to stop threats. This causes security risks, staff burnout, and high turnover. This happens when the challenge hasn’t been put in relatable terms. Learn specific techniques to rally more support for your ideas so you get the resources and buy-in you need.
More Inclusion and Compliance
InfoSec is often seen as a barrier rather than a solution, leaving them out of key planning meetings but expected to rework projects afterward. So they spend precious time putting out fires and conducting dog-and-pony shows. Discover strategies that get colleagues on board, include infosec earlier, and apply your ideas.
Develop Strategic Partner Brand
InfoSec is often seen as merely “tech support.” This perception closes the door to bigger opportunities. Good staff leave, and leaders remain stuck indefinitely. Understand the key factors that build a personal and team brand that opens doors to opportunities for you beyond the boundaries of the tech world.
About Me
Shawn Clark
These are dangerous times, with bad actors threatening all of us. But all too often, InfoSec leaders are in an uphill battle, armed with inadequate budgets and understaffed teams. They also must contend with stakeholders resisting their efforts and excluding them from pivotal discussions. Fighting off external threats while struggling with these internal challenges is stressful and dangerous. It increases risk to the organization, causes burnout on the team, and limits opportunities for advancement.
While working with over 4,000 leaders, I’ve been frustrated with conventional training that does not effectively prepare leaders to tackle these internal roadblocks. So, I got to work and spent a few years, thousands of dollars, and many late nights researching and testing countless tools and methods. With those insights – and feedback from successful InfoSec leaders – I put together a powerful combination of InfoSec-specific training, customized resources, and ongoing support that enables these leaders to have real influence with their stakeholders.
The leaders who apply this process see remarkable results. They are seen as strategic partners instead of just “tech support,” so their input is sought earlier in the planning process. They are respected as thought leaders instead of seen as barriers, making people more receptive to their recommendations. They are accepted as capable leaders, opening doors previously closed to them.
I am committed to supporting you every step of the way as you keep your organization safe, empower your team, boost your career, and get more satisfaction from your work and personal life – all while upholding your integrity!
